Dr. Tennison has watched healthcare evolve in both good ways and bad ones. According to him, healthcare has unfortunately become big business, with treatment decisions often being made in the best interest of the provider’s wallet instead of in the best interest of the patient. The result? Aggressive treatment planning devoid of actual clinical evidence backed up by research and expertise.
That’s not how Dr. Tennison operates. He chooses to treat patients only when absolutely necessary. By planning every minute spent in braces from start to finish and using advanced, modern technology, he’s able to treat patients who do need treatment efficiently and effectively.
Additionally, he sees many other orthodontic offices that are only concerned with cosmetics and aligning the most visible teeth. Smile aesthetics are important, but so are functional results, healthy bites, and focusing on the patient’s long-term dental health. Dr. Tennison focuses on a holistic overview of your health with the knowledge that a healthy smile from all points of reference can create a lifetime of overall health and wellness.
Dr. Tennison provides LightForce custom braces, clear aligners, early orthodontic treatment, and TMJ disorder care from one convenient location in Cleburne, Texas. His expertise stems from 20 years in practice and training from top orthodontic clinicians during his Houston residency. He gained an appreciation of evidence-based treatment early on as a resident and continues to apply these principles today.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Tennison attends in-person continuing education meetings every year. While he’s noticed a trend of business and marketing topics in continuing education courses, it’s important to him to also stay current with the novel clinical developments in the orthodontic field. When he’s not crafting patient smiles, he’s spending time with his wife and three children, watching sports, and playing golf.
